The Process
Below is a rough outline of what to expect during the installation process. The method may vary slightly depending on each situation.
1. Clear the area
One of the first things the installation crew will do is clear the pool area of sod, rocks, roots and any debris that could puncture the pool liner. After the debris is cleared, the ground has to be level. While there is about an inch of leeway, the more level, the better.
2. Rail Preparation
After the ground has been cleared and leveled, the crew will begin to map out the rail system and connect them. Generally, all rails will be connected in a circle before proceeding. When the pool area is determined, the pool base and sand are added.
3. Wall Installation
After the area is prepared and the railing is connected, walls are added. This process tends to take the longest as has the most steps and is more labor intensive. Depending on the type of wall used (aluminum, steel, resin) completion time could vary.
4. Liner Installation
Once the pool structure is up and stable, the liner is seeded under the rails and over the walls. Liner installation is one of the most important steps in the process.
5. Add Water
The final step is the addition of water. The key in this step is doing so slowly and carefully. The crew will likely do so cautiously, paying attention to any wrinkles or imperfections in the liner.
